| Type 2 is general use applications when moderate sulfate resistance or moderate heat of hydration is desired. Type 2 will usually generate less heat and at a slower rate than Type 1.

Type 3, when compared to Type 1, generates higher early compressive strengths. This product is usually chemically the same as Type 1 except it is ground finer. Type 3 is typically used when forms need to be removed quickly. Type 3 is also used in cold weather to aid slower hydration conditions.
